I went to the Races almost every Weekend between 1943-46
At that time Mr. Lorenzo Lo, son of the prewar chinese ambassador to Denmark, owned the best chinaponies Rye, Northwood, Bagshot and Hindhead, not to forget the old “Roehampton”. These horses originally belonged to Mr. Henchman of Jardines The best Australian Racehorses were “Star Turn” and “Donah” or Chefoo King and Chefoo Queen. The last batch of Griffins were imported in 1944.
